HALO 3 Official Thread

You would what it? Lol. Its not as easy as it seems. I usually think people play socially because its easier to rank up. But i dont care about rank as much as i do about levels? What about you guys...

I would another word for pee it. As would most people that play it on here ;)

Just about every single person I play from my FL plays socially because they like a chat and to have fun. I am possibly the best Graw player ever to pick up a 360 gamepad yet I have no need to play ranked to prove it. Ranked is just full of people boosting anyway.

I never bother with ranked because its usually poo. I couldnt care less about levelling up. Take GOW, that game just wasn't fun in ranked.

I have no need for levels. I multiplay for fun.

;)

Its not that difficult to rank up in Halo 3 at all. All it takes is time and paitience, plus there is the added bonus of all the newbies playing Halo 3 which is more or less an easy kill/win for a Veteran of Halo 2.

I've also heard a lot of people moaning that its way easier to rank up in Halo 3 then it was in Halo 2. That is either due to the influx of newbies as I said above or Bungie made it a lot easier to rank up levels by reducing the ammount of wins needed to advance levels, which I think is true since we already had level 40's in the first few days after Halo 3's release.

Not played Lone Wolves much myself, but dont you get RP if you finish in the top half of the leader board? Does it work the same with EXP towards your level?

I'm sorry but I would like to see some of you guys reach a 40 in Halo 3. And to be honest I mabey played lonewolves for about a week on and off - now I have reached my peak and play possibly 30 social matches with my mates every night. Just because I don't play with you lot. Before accusing I think you should check my Bungie.net profile...

Yes it does - but I'm very proud of my 40 TBH, I think its a very big achievement and now when I play social games, I can actually amount them to something :)

Yes Kalanium you're right it isn't as hard as H2. You do get exp and rank for coming 3rd also. But 40 is quite an acheivment. The games generally get really hard about 38+.

Dont worry I'm not trying to steal your thunder :p I would like to give it a shot myself, but it isnt going to happen. I have the time for it but not the patience unfortunately, plus there is the added fact that I would have to play oddball, king of the hill and the rest of that crap which I cant stand.

I would rather just have some FFA slayer on Snowbound or Epitaph and the very rare occasion I did get it everyone of those tossers Veto'd it.

Dont worry I hear ya :) I hate Lonewolves with a passion but now that I'm a 40 - I don't have to play it anymore. I can just sit back, relax and gain some exp with mates :)

Im plodding through legendary with my housemate.

How on earth can you do legendary on your own though, must be so fustrating when you die.

Some games I will win online with 20 odd kills and then the next ill struggle to get past 5, Mind you I tend to weaken people then hide whilst someone else takes the kill

Roachy,

It seems to me your level 40 is probably more to do with the number of ranked games you have played rather than the true testimony of your skill.

I'm not the greatest player ever but I cant see level 40 being outside my reach, in fact having played a few level 40s I'd say it was around the same skill level as level 25 in H2.

A lot of players here are happy to play the social and custom games. Its more fun, with a lot of banter and there is a nice relaxed pace about most of the games. Also because we play so much non-ranked games it means the parties are more welcoming to less skilled players and they do not feel as intimidated by the skilled players.

I honestly cant see me ever getting through 30 games in a night regularly. It would literally be start one game after finishing the last. with no chit chat in-between. Bit boring if you ask me.

I agree, if you want to hit 40 now is the best time to do it. Get level 40 in 2 years time and I might be a little impressed.

Took me a few days to complete legendary on my tod, and yes, it was very frustrating!

I'm playing through it again at the moment with a mate to help him get all the achievements and it's just as frustrating as when I done it on my own! Great fun though!

On another note, I'm absolute rubbish at multiplayer, thought I'd be better to be honest, but joypad + competive play doesn't agree with me. :(

Dude please check my Bungie profile. Once I got past 20, I don't think Ive came fourth or fifth more than what? 5 times? It CERTAINLY isn't because of the number of games Ive played. Also Kreeeee - 30 games equivalents to about 3 hours a night so I don't think 30 is not a lot to brag about :)

I REALLY wish people would stop assuming that I only play ranked games and that I am some hermit freak that dosnt speak. I play a lot more social than ranked games and have a regular group of 4 or 5 who I play with almost every night and know every one of them in real person. We are all best of friends and get along incredibly well - there isn't a minute in the game where we don't speak and get **** talked by Americans because they find out we are brits.

Just because I don't jump to the chance to join your customs when you invite me dosnt mean I only play ranked matches (I have barely played any since doing Lone Wolves).

And for the record, I was 28 in slayer in halo 2 which you probably wont believe is quite a jump from 25 - its like another boundary to cross so please dont assume a level 40 is equivalent to 25 because its BS. Its very hard to reach a 40 and as my games list will SHOW, I came 1st, 2nd or third in most of my games to reach it.

Im still not sure why people think I'm bragging about getting a level 40 - its just a number? But most importantly its opening up doors every time I play social matches

Because you won't shut up about how proud you are of a number no one cares about!

Exaggeration should be a crime on the internet :)

So should being a tool.

[Quoting someone who's level 40]We must be the only 2 on the forums? :p

Im a level 40 now! :D:D:D It was HARD work but I got there :p. I dont think theres much chance of a 45 but I need another 100exp now :)
