Just logged on after a long boring day in work and WOW....This Week Only Deal pops up.

My plan was to hold out with my current rig (in sig) until Mid November time when I would then put together a nice Q6600 gaming rig comprising of roughly the following:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 GO 2.40GHz Quad Core CPU
Tuniq Tower 120 Pro Blue LED
X38 Mobo [DDR 2 as DDR3 is WAY to expensive]
Akasa Eclipse

and I was planning on a £950 spending spree.

But tonight I saw this

I have developed a twitch which starts at my wrist, grabs my wallet and starts to click the mouse..... very erratically on the " BUY" icon

The T.W.O. deal has most of what I was looking for (although not mad on the case) it is such a good price I am really considering it.

I have always bought every component and self built my rigs...but this is making me rethink......someone talk me out of it or talk sense to me.....I might just............Just ............................Nooooooooo !!:D

Ok, I know Penryn is around the corner, but this could be added to next year.
I know the 8800GT is about to be launched, but I can upgrade the X2900 Pro at a later date too........it would take some of the fun of OC'ing away...but then again, it will come already purring away.....OMG I am starting to sweat !! LOL:cool:

I'd wait - the new NVidia graphics cards are supposed to be very quick and significantly cheaper than the current stuff. The other thing that would concern me is that the OcUK overclocked pre-builds do not appear to be stress-tested beyond running 3DMark-06 and PCMark-05 and I've read numerous posts on these forums about them being unstable under load.

If someone from the store wants to state they do an 8-hour orthos, then great, but right now, I'd bodyswerve them. Especially as several OcUK senior current and former staff members have been on these forums recently posting for advice at a level that certainly surprised me.

:eek::eek: No Way......I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that they OC'ed them correctly, i.e 8 hours prime (or multi core equivalent) stable....How the hell can you claim its an Overclocked system without stability ?

I can run my Opty 144@ 3Ghz......for about a millisecond before it falls over...doesn't mean I have a 3 Ghz overclock....you have shocked me sir... !
