Hi all,

I have got some bits together for a build and would like some recommendations for a motherboard please, i have done a bit of
research and the Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R seems like a good choice
in my budget (upto £75) but is there anything better? any problems with this board?

The bits I will be using for the build are:-

Core 2 Duo E6400 + Artic Cooler Pro
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz
Inno3D Geforce 8800GT
2 x 160 Hitachi Sata Hard Drives.
Samsung DL DVDRW (IDE)

I current have a Dual Vsta board but this is no good for clocking and the graphics card is not really compatible.

I am looking to overclock to around 3Ghz.

Cheers.

Paul

Nope looks good, with luck you should get at least 3.2 ghz, I got 3.2 ghz on my first oc attempt with that CPU, cooling and ram, only difference is the board & gfx card, but you have a better chipset so should be no problem.

Make sure you have a good branded approx. 500 watt psu for it all :).

Great....that sounds good, would be v happy with 3.2Ghz....I have a 650w PSU so that should be fine.

Thanks for the reply....:)

I would be inclined to get the Gigabyte GA P35 DS3R (DDR2) instead of the Gigabyte GA P35C DS3R (DDR2/3)....or better still the Gigabyte P35-DS3P (which I have and is great value for money).
