Coolermaster RC-690 Dominator (anyone used it at all?)

Its fairly quiet, i can only hear my 8800GT usually but after its started up fine its all just the sound of a few fans blowing, i hardly notice it (sennheiser PC161's).

The RC-690 is the current budget wonder case on most forums with USA members on it...

It's meant to be a very good, well built case with plenty of ventilation and many many fan holes :) To me, it looks like one of the best budget cases ever.

However, the reason I think it's never gone down that well over here is the price difference - while it is a budget case over in the USA, with it being around $55 delivered RRP and there being offers (after MIR) of $5 + shipping - over here it's price point of £52 + delivery means it starts competing with the much more spacious and "high-end" P182 and Antec 900 style cases.

Hi, said I’d give feedback somewhere regarding the build I started as of this evening using 690 case, must say it’s a cracker! I'm even considering ditching my Antec 182 for this; as the airflow is excellent and on par with Antec 900, minus the 900's ugly look. ;) I’ve only found reviews of 690 using just the three fans supplied, cooling was decent but nothing stand out special, however this case will house 7 (yep seven) 80,120 or 140mm case fans, so I put on seven 120mm, 1200rpm fans and the idle temps im seeing using a Q6600 are just a tad good (Dropping back to just 5 fans, 7 is overkill tbh yet its still quiet).

No rattles, very low noise levels too, if this case cost £70-£80; then I’d suggest you look elsewhere as there's plenty around that price point to choose from, but for £50 you will be hard pushed to find a better case suited to over clocking, great cooling and fairly solid too. Granted you will have to use a few extra fans to get the most out of it, Cooler Master should have supplied 5 and not 3 in my opinion (Imo 2 on top, 1 back, 1 side, 1 bottom), but then most of us will have case fans that can be transferred over considering its able to house 80, 120 or 140mm fans on all mounting points!

Mates going to be well chuffed when he comes to collect on Sunday, once all done. :D Feel free to ask any questions or more info regarding the case; I’ll do my best to answer whilst there's still one sitting under me desk. :) Edit: Will add some pics to the thread when i get time.

Yep

Built this in about 1.5 hours the other day when i recieved the case. Still needs some tidying on some of the cables, but I have to say, I'm impressed with the cable management so far!

Most annoying thing is the power supply connector, the cable isn't quite long enough to go round the back, to the top and down again!

I had the same problem with mine (will post a pic later). I just bought a 30cm extension cable for both the 24pin and 8pin cables.

Couple of pics of friends partial new build, nice case indeed, was a real pain to hide PSU cables though as its not a non-modular friendly design. Changed that rather tacky blue LED front fan with 1200 Scythe, as the blue glow front cheapens the look of this case imo. That aside, this was quick n easy case to fill, oh and cooler master fan on side does make a racket caused by vents, Akasa Amber was far less noisey along with Sythe 1200rpm fan i tried in same place. Bit more tidying required if i can be botherd, then job done. :)
