"super fetch has stopped working"

Getting this eror quite a bit lately with vista 64 sp1, its normally either superfetch or windows explorer. Anyone else experiencing this?

Delete everything in C:\Windows\Prefetch (type "prefetch" into the start menu search box to get there quickly) then reboot. See if that fixes it.

Try restarting the Software Licensing service. Some software breaks this so that it stops after a while and causes loads of other apps to stop working causing more problems.

Nero is a big culprit here as were early Nvidia drivers on the 32 bit Vista. What happens is badly written 3rd party drivers overwrite a Vista system file which can cause these issues.

Another cause is if you follow any of those web guides which say speed Vista up by disabling certain services etc etc you will find it breaks Vista in some way. In particular disabling readyboost & or superfetch breaks the control panel from even launching (along with the free games on Vista Ultimate).
