Hi all

Can someone please recommend me a new PSU, preferably modular and over 800w. It would have to be compatible and stable with Asus motherboards and have all the latest connections for new PCI-E graphics cards.
All suggestions welcome.
Cheers

I seriously doubt you need 800W. So I'm going to be cheeky and recommend a Corsair HX620W.:)

If you seriously are planning on 2 9800GX2s and loads and loads of hard drives then a PC Power and Cooling 750W or an Enermax Galaxy.

Is your spec as in sig? If it is then you're throwing money out of the windows! Your Seasonic S12 600 is still one of the best out there and even a good 500W can easily handle it. I'm running Q6600 @ 3.6, oced 8800GTX, 4 HDDs, 5x 80 fans with an S12 500.
Even if you're upgrading to 9800 GX2 SLI, 800 is a waste. I personally would never touch OCZ, Hiper, Thermaltake with a stick and a condom on the other end.

Corsair 620 doesn't have the new PCIE connections afair...

I can definitely recommend Thermaltake ToughPower 750.
The best PSU i've ever used so far, it's really cheap and I found it better than corsairs and tagans I had in the past. It's also so silent that you will think it didn't even start up when u switch it on ;-).

I've got a modular psu(hx 520).It was great attaching and detaching the cables for a while, but in the end I needed them all.
I guess modular is useful and probably better to have it than not, but pointless for me. I've not really looked at the higher end PSUs but if you can get a solid, quiet PSU without modular shenanigans cheaper, make sure you need it. In hindsight I should have spent my bucks on a TX.

Anyway. I just think modular, though useful, is a bit Flavour of the Month.

Antec Quattro are supposed to excellent PSU's.

80mm fan won't be a problem, unless anyone has experience of the Quattro being overly noisy?

Very good Power Supply though.
