Then one of my old guild mates reported that id been hacked (he didnt know i sold it) so i got the account back.... and the cash. Harsh on the guy i sold it to i know and i feel bad, but im also laughing my ass off so :P

Have you not thought to inform the guy and give him his account back? don't you have a conscience?

Why? I think it's hilarious, I'd offer to sell it back to him for a bit more cash ;)

Although yeah the guilt would probably get to me and I'd just give it him back.

I sold my lvl 60 NE Hunter for about £90 a few months after release, think I had one purple. Wish I could remember the characters name so I could see if it was still being played.

Where are people selling accounts then? As I have one I want to shift.

3 level 70 chars, warrior, paladin and mage, all at least T5 equipped with max professions, and the paladin has T5 standard gear for all 3 specs.

(Hope this post is OK, it's against Blizzard T&C's but certainly isn't illegal)

I advertised mine on the bay, it was taken down but someone who had seen it emailed me and we did the transaction privately. He sent me the money through paypal and I handed over the details, surprisingly enough no one got scammed. It was a few years ago though.

I wouldn't recommend doing it like that now though :)

I sold a Star Wars Galaxies Jedi account for £800 back when they were rare (I was the 3rd or 4th to unlock on my server). Not bad for about a month of grinding when you're a student.

I'm surprised WoW characters fetch any money because every man and his dog plays WoW - surely the market is totally saturated?

So you basically scammed someone out of £600 and are boasting about it? Interesting....

Oh my, so one day a man learns that wow accounts can be sold.. the next day he learns its not just World of Warcraft!, its comes to a bit of a shock tbh. but i guess it does make sence if you want to get to your friends levels straight away.

Mighty MMO, Oh how Mighty you are.

To be honest, £200 for three years of play doesn't even cover the subscription costs, let alone the sheer amount of time put in. But it's good that you still get some money for it at least :) (I'm just saying that it's not really worth purposely investing time into an account so that it can be sold later on).

If I could flog my account (4 level 70s, plenty of gold and 5T6 Mage) and get a quick 300 notes for it without any effort or research I'd seriously consider doing it. As it is, it appears there are loads of people looking to scam account sellers, so I've not really looked into it too heavily.

If someone offers me £150 for mine, they can have it!. give me something to show for the time spent playing it i guess. lvl 70 priest and about 5 others lvl 60-63.

Just wish i knew where to sell it lol.

This is the problem for account sellers, there is so much scamming going on nowadays. Sold my original account a year into playing for ~£400, took about an hour after posting. Nowadays it's just too dangerous.
