New Rig Wanted - Any Advice?

Keeping in mind, im after a really good system to max out games on full settings.

hmmmmmm don't set your sights too high ;) It just won't happen, but a 4870 and decent dual core running at a cool (and easily achievable) 4gig will be as good as you'll get before the land of Dual GPU's comes a-calling!

spend a bit more, on mobo and gpu only, for a more stable easily achievable overclock, that mobo supports crossfire too so in the future easily able to add another 4870 for primo gaming performance, just bare in mind a bigger PSU would be worth buying now for crossfire future proofing, only another £20 there though.

I'd say that's a fair spec Vs low budget.

nd no worries re the help, it's fun to spec up machines once in a while!

I mirror the above comments that for £500 or £600 you won't get anything that can run Crysis maxed out at that resolution (altho I guess it depends on expectations!). BUT, you will get a very nice PC still for that budget, and it will run most games excellently. A 4870 is defintely the card for you given your aspirations and budget. And I'd push your budget as much as possible to get an E8400 CPU + a decent cooler to clock it up, as said above :)

Be realistic about Crysis, and the rest will fall into place nicely ;)

me likes a challenge:

£500

IMO spend £600.

the GX2 which everyone somehow forgets will eat up crysis at that res :D

Thank so much for your help, looks great - if the 600 oen is the absolute best I can get for 600, and will do me proud in both gaming, and general use.

Then that might have to be the best! No point getting a sub standard system

Looks ok to me, now thats cleared up..

I want a new ferrari for track days and showing off to my mates, it needs to be red and fairly recent, preferably MOT'ed and taxed for a year.

Budget is £300 good luck guys.

LOL< ok then, looks like im gonna order the 600 pounds one above then

The two PC's for 500 and 600 listed above are far from bad BUT if I were you I'd just save up a little bit more cash and get what you REALLY want :)

If you want to run games silky smooth at 1900x1200 with max details, you will probably have to break the £650-700 mark to be totally honest.
Agreed probably best to wait for a bit more cash, depending on whether more funds are likely to come your way.
