I have a Edimax BR-6624 and I have no idea how to set it up.

I have a connection from my O2 ADSL modem on WAN1 and a conenction from my virgin media modem on WAN2.

As you can see in these screen shots there is an error, I can't seem to search on Newsleecher

If you need and MAC address's or anything just let me know what I need and where I need to put them. I haven't done much to it yet.

Thanks I have the manual but it doesnt help when none of it means anything to me lol. I dont know whta all the DNS DHCP means lol

Fair enough :)

Ok, your modems are already taking the signal and connecting to the ISP, are you on static or dynamic IP addresses from O2 and Virgin?

Are your modems modem/routers? or just modems? If they're routers as well, disable the DHCP on them and leave them as a default IP like 192.168.1.1 or something?

As an aside have you tried changing the IP of the LAN Ip to say 192.168.1.2?

Sorry I'm very much useless at this sort of stuff, I can just about get my draytek modem > linksys wrt54

I think VM is static and O2 is Dynamic.

VM is just a modem, O2 is a router

should I still be able to get into the O2 box as normal?

I'm not sure about the O2 box, I'd try and get the VM working to start with as it is just a modem.

In the WAN setup for Virgin you'll have to change the connect type to static IP and insert the MAC address of the modem into the relevant box I think.

Then see what happens

If I try to set it as static ip it asks for a DNS address.

Also I tried to change the LAN IP as you said and I get this message.

LAN IP is in same IP segment with WAN "Any IP" will be disable

Reset your modem then your router right after each over then it should work.

By reset i mean power off then back on

After turning them off I had no internet at all even though I could view web pages before.

Newsleecher was giving me this error, I'm not sure if its because of the router

Error:
Unable to resolve SuperSearch address

Reason:

Socket Error Message:

connet: WSocketResolveHost: Cannot convert host address
'ssgen.getmyip.com' .Error#11004

Default settings in screenshots 1 and 2 are fine. You say you think you have a static IP with VM, you don't.

The error in your third screenshot is because the LAN IP being dished out by your o2 box is in the same range as the LAN configuration on your Edimax router. You need to change one or the other, or run the o2 box in bridge mode, which would also avoid the dual-NAT setup you've got going on with your o2 connection.

I looked at how to run the O2box in bridge mode and it looks complicated, I was thinking about buying a Sky branded Netgear, would it be a better option?

Thanks

Bridging the o2 box isn't too bad, you can either download a configuration file or configure it manually through the command line interface - I did the latter and it was fine.

A DG834GT is probably easier in that bridge mode is available through the web interface, and it might be a good choice for the long run when you realise having two connections and trying to load balance them is more trouble than it's worth :p

Thanks for that, when doing it manually how do I telnet into the router exactly?

I'm not sure if the config file worked, after I confirm it I get a page cannot be displayed message, any way I can check its worked?

I got putty but I have no idea how to log in with it.

I'll have a look for a guide

OK I tried to login using 192.168.1.254 as the ip, telnet and then SuperUser and the password for that but putty just closes straight away, what am I doing wrong?

A copy and paste got me in. I followed the instructions and now it doesn't work at all, but I now have the router working on the VM connection and I'm going to order a Sky Netgear modem.
