Mac Ram..OcUk?

How come OcUk dont have the newer faster Mac ram for sale?

Was waiting for ages to see if they would stock as I dont need it immediatly, but was looking for good prices, but they still dont have it!

You mean DDR3? You can try manufacturer's site directly - that is where I got my RAM from.

No i mean jsut th regular faster 800mhz stuff, took up some of the good value on the pc Ram here and jsut annoying I have to go fill out somewhere else lol.

Ohh wait, i see it can be misread, i bought the other ram for my PC ANYWAYS!

I was just wanting to ALSO get ram for my iMac at the time, but you guys dont have the 800 stuff yet.

Nope, still the same stuff, iMac or otherwise. Depending on the model it may use 200 pin (i.e. laptop RAM) rather than 240, but it's still identical to the stuff that goes in non-Apple laptops.

Yea i know SODIMM studd is all the same, still doesnt mean OcUk are sticking the type I want lol.

The mac pro's memory (esp the current 2009 lineup) use apples own spec, which is not the same as PC mem as it misses a control chip for temperature etc.

Well i ordered the crucial 4gb stuff for my lte 2008 model..would that be ok?

Probably just apple being apple, it has something extra so they can put the boot in for price. Example new imacs, to go from 4 gigs of ram to 8 gigs of ram according to apple costs a paltry £800. :eek:

i just got some crucial ram to go in my mac mini, the mini comes with 1 Gb and apple wanted £120 to upgrade it to 4GB the crucial ram cost me £59 for 4Gb

Why not post the full details of the part in the new product suggestions forum or the Customer Service forum. I need details before I can order it in for you. I can't call Crucial or Kingston and say "can I have some of the new faster Mac RAM please?"
