on tuesday im going to order a Dell UltraSharp 2209WA to replace my LG L226WA. i notice a lot of smearing when i move the camera too quickly in world of warcraft & the screen is slightly brighter at the bottom than the top so will the dell be a big improvement?

Should be a big improvement. The Dell uses a far superior E-IPS panel (compared to the TN in the LG). On mine, there is no ghosting and very good brightness uniformity. I'm sure you will like it a lot.

I've just bought a second one this week - i personally think it's the best 22" available at that price.

OCuK have the A01 revisions too so you're guaranteed the latest panel.

just arrived and after setting it up i have to say that im well impressed :D
the picture quality is amazing and streetfighter 4 looks so much better on this screen, its like im seeing colours that were not there before

Glad you're pleased with it.

Do a search to help perfect your screen settings - the two main settings ppl tend to use are approx: 10 Brightness and 70 contrast.

i had it at 0 brightness and 75 contrast but after trying your settings they are a lot better so thanks :D
now to find something to clean it with

If you're talking about the screen - just use a lint free cloth (vileda is what i use) and plain luke warm water. Just be sure to squeeze all the excess water out of the cloth before you start applying it to the screen.

I'm very tempted by the 2209WA.. However at the moment I'm holding out for a 24" e-IPS panel - a 23" version is being released by NEC (multisync ea231wmi) shortly so there is hope yet!

Looks hopeful, maybe we can hope that Dell will produce a version with the panel or a 24" edition - although Dell has just released a new IPS panel (Dell U2410)

Depends how quickly I run out of patience I suppose...

I was hoping that 16:10 24'' e-IPS would be a lot cheaper than that (250-300 range) :(
hope it comes down in price after a while in the market (If it even actually arrives in the market)

The NEC looks like a real good deal for people who need colour accuracy though...

It is on the NEC UK website news section, so I think it can be pretty much guaranteed that it'll arrive shortly
