***** Acer 23.6" 120Hz 3D Monitor Available to Pre-Order *****

THanks for the views on the Alienware, hopefully the Acer will be similar in opinion, as I think I will get that one to save money...mind you depending if I can live with that orange design

Got this out the box last night. Seems very nice, have only played 2D games so far as my 3d vision seems to be playing up but will get back to you.

Compared to the sammy 2233rz (which is what I had previously) the settings are much nicer and it comes with good calibration software that directly adjusts the hardware.

Will report back on 3d performance.

engadget recently posted a review comparing the 2 monitors (the acer and the alienware) and they were very close but the alienware edged out, but not worth the extra £150+ in my opinion!

Ok, I changed my order from Acer to Alienware for the following reasons:

1. Ability to tilt / swivel / height adjust the monitor
2. Audio out jack (for the audio output of a hdmi input i.e. my xbox 360)
3. USB hub (will come in very handy for plugging in the IR box of the 3D vision glasses)
4. 3 year warranty
5. Alienware monitor is available NOW.

In terms of quality of display, I've read that there's next to no difference between the 2 monitors - and that the quality is of a reasonable level. So for me the above points trumped the acer.

Sorry overclockers, I had to cancel the pre-order.

Meh. All that worth £148?
For me it's not TBH :)
£50 probably.

OK just tried some 3D. Ghosting is still pretty bad though it's worse on some settings than others, so it may be theres a 'best' setup to minimise ghosting when doing 3D.

EDIT: Ok, i had left it on like 20mins before testing above, but about 30mins after that and the ghosting has susbstantially reduced!! guess it needs a REALLY good warmup, not just a normal one!

I was told by another company that they have the launch exclusivity because they bought a Huge amount to acer, the other companies will have delivery in another two weeks time.

What people think? this can be true?

I got my Alienware AW2310 today (ordered on Wednesday afternoon). I'll set it up tonight and report back.

Incidentally, I did order the Geforce goggles from OcUK and they arrived yesterday - so yet again, big thx for a quick delivery, and once again, apologies for cancelling the Acer order. I just couldn't wait any longer. :)

Any decent reviews comparing both the Acer and the Alienware screen?

Taking out the price factor, which is the better screen to have?
