Apple forum suggestion

Yeh I see both arguements, wouldnt the middle ground be an apple mobile device forum within Apple?
I.E
Apple
Apple Hardware
Apple Software
Apple Iphone
I hate that there is one big iphone thread potentially discussing all manner of topics. Who can honestly be bothered to read through it to find useful nuggets of information?
The apple forums should be split:
1. Mobile devices and iOS
2. Desktops, Macbooks and OSX
3. Other Apple (Apple TV, Time Capsules, Airport etc)
or something like that, and get rid of these stupid uber-threads and allow new relevant threads (perhaps just with one thread for all delivery/where can i get one questions to keep them out of the way).

Thats even better putting iOS all together.

Though could we ditch like the official iPhone and iPad thread then and make different topics?But try not asking/discussing same things

As usually a software issue relates to a hardware issue!
So essentially:
1. Mobile Devices (iPod, iPhone, iPad)
2. Computer Devices (iMac, Mac Pro, MacBooks, Mac Mini) & OS X
3. Other (Apple TV, Airport Extreme, etc)
This is a great idea. As long as it's made clear pre-purchase questions can be asked in the mobile forum too (opposed to the current - ALL IPHONE TALK MOVE TO APPLE PLZ). Obviously if you're thinking of buying one you'll likely be comparing it to an Android etc, so need to ask from the wider userbase - Not just the Apple forum.
Do serious pre-purchase questions talking about the iPhone really get moved into the Apple section? Kinda silly, unless the question is blatantly "I want an iPhone, tell me where to buy!"
In any case, I like Peter's new section ideas - Apple is somewhat unique in having its OS and Hardware so intertwined. Be nice to see purely the computer side of things being discussed in one forum, without all the iPhone stuff getting in the way.

Ah they've changed it now, used to say for all iPhone talk please use the Apple forum. Much the same as the laptop section trying to figure out which to by - not uncommon you're deciding between a Mac and a PC laptop, but you're (or at least used to be) pushed here if it's anything to do with Apple.
the iphone 4 thread has near on 8,000 posts that has to be kept into 1 thread to avoid cluttering up the forum
an Apple Mobile Devices Forum (for ipod, ipad, iphone) would definately help with the clutter.
It helped with the sports forum adding the football sub forum and with motors having to have HUGE f1 threads to avoid cluttering it up.

that has been tryed and didnt work.
all the threads get trashed by the apple haters. At least in its own apple forum trolls are kept to a minimum.
