Yeah, pretty much is because ASRock don't make great boards, really wasn't impressed by my m3a 770 de at all, cheap and nasty tbh

Extreme 6 is a very good board, well priced and has bucket loads of features.

a lot of people are very loyal to brands and the bad rep of Asrock is very much in the past, some people are just a little unforgiving and don't give them a chance.

Personally I would have have an Asrock board in my system however my UD9 does me just fine for the time being.

Nice nath wraith umm if you tested the extreme 6s while at oc uk shop did you find any with errors .

Would they tell you even if they did?

Mainly, reputation is the big factor here I would have thought. Never had the pleasure/experience of AsRock but heard bad stories in the past and have tended to avoid them.

So even though (probably to low amount of purchases) they have had the least amount of issues reported we are still going off the past. BTW I'm confused nathwraith says its good but a variety of differnet users are saying its bad even though it has some promising specs.

I wouldn't buy it, because my limited experience with them has been of motherboards dead shortly out of warranty.

It may well be a good board, but finding out is a gamble. Anyone know if their aftersales support is decent? Zotac's is shameful, and Asus was rubbish for a very long time. Gigabyte's was excellent, so out of the four, it's hard for me to recommend anyone other than Gigabyte.

Asrock are known for their bargain basement, gender bender boards.

I mean who in their right mind builds a 1355/1356 board ?

But I too like the Extreme 6 and Asrock's attempts to shake off the old stereotype and break in to being 'main stream'

Good luck to them but for now I'll still avoid

Yeah as others have said I wouldn't buy one even if it got great reviews just because past experience with Asrock

As above, bad reputation from past, as Nath said prob a lot better now, but its hard to shake a bad rep, similarly why few people recomend OCZ RAM ATM

ASrock is now actually owned by Asus, and Asus manufacture all of the boards for ASrock so the quality is now topnotch.
