I got a call from Overclockers today informing me that they couldn't get my Titan Spinosaur above 4.4Ghz. Being a computer novice I didn't fancy trying to clock an own-build system so I decided it best to leave it to the experts, I'm a wee bit gutted that the advertised 4.6GHz won't be coming my way after all. Is it the case that I am very unfortunate and am one of only a few people getting a poor sandybridge, or should Overclockers advertise the overclock more realistically as 4.4Ghz and regard anything above as a bonus, or are Overclockers being a wee bit cute here and looking to minimise any returns due to shortened lives? I'm using the computer exclusively for FSX which I believe is one of the most CPU dependant games out there but the Overclockers rep said the 0.2Ghz will make little difference. Apart from being completely not what I would expect someone working for a company that strives to be on the edge of computer performance to say, do people agree with this? Would I even notice?
My first purchase from Overclockers was the MSI GTX580 OC so, as bad luck runs in threes, I'm dreading my next purchase. I am completely aware that this was an error by MSI, not Overclockers. On that note, can someone at MSI please grow some, put a claim in to their insurance company and get some OC cards out to those who put faith in their product and (seemingly now non-existent) customer service. I mean, bejesus, how long can you stay silent on this matter? I'm rather peeved at how long this has taken, and I don't even have a system to put it in, God knows how angry those who have a computer sitting dormant waiting for MSI to do something, anything, must be!!!
