Is 120hz a worthy upgrade if staying with the same size monitor?

Samsung 2233rz with half reasonable calibration isn't too bad as TNs go and nice and responsive for gaming.

For most of them something like:

Red: 48
Green: 35
Blue: 41

Gamma: Mode 1

Brightness: user preference
Contrast: 75
Sharpness: 60

Produces great results and if you want that "CRT" like look up the brightness and sharpness a bit :D

120hz is very nice in 2D
I play starcraft 2 online and panning the camera is much nicer:)
In the rare instances you can pump out over 120fps, source engine game perhaps, it's a truly GLASS like playing experience

I understand not wanting to lose 16:10. But if you were to go 1080p you would have more vertical pixels, which is the whole point...

One the the things I noticed going from 60Hz to 120Hz was that with 60Hz I virtually always had to have vsync on, especially in fps, as otherwise the tearing was abyssmal. But in 120Hz I have never had to have vsync on, tearing is just not noticeable to me now.

I'm considering the Samsung 2233RRZ as a replacement for my faulty Samsung 226BW.

I'm a bit worried about Rroff's post, which implies it will need some calibration - is this down to poor panel types?

For the same price (£200 region), size (22") and ratio (16:10), is there anything better?

I haven't calibrated mine and everything is fine in my eyes.
