LED 120hz monitor.

I've had both, refunded the Benq after I received a replacement for a faulty one.

I have 2x LG w2363ds now and looking at getting a third. Though windows sometimes doesn't like having multiple 120hz monitors (Get wierd slow downs in something graphical intensive on 1 screen when you start doing something on the other screen, for example youtube on 1 screens FPS will drop a bit when you do activited on the other screen)

The BenQ has serious overdrive problems, so much negative trailing its unbelievable. In dark environments it is almost unmissable.

The LG cures this 100% and I have never had a problem other than windows not enjoying multiple 120hz. Though this may be an Nvidia problem as well as I have not tried them on an AMD card.

LG is all around a better monitor and for far cheaper. You lose some functions like 2 inputs on 1 screen that the BenQ has but thats worth losing for the better quality display. Oh and the bezels are prettty huge on the LG
Just my 2p

So does the BenQ! It's perhaps a little stronger on the LG but the effect is the same, if you are sensitive to it, on the BenQ. They've gone pretty full on with that one too. If you don't like the 'grainy' effect you could consider the ASUS which has a 'ColorShine' glossy coating.

Why does my blood pressure rise every time I see people try to draw some kind of erroneous distinction between 'LED' and 'LCD' technology? I recommend OP and Davefran give this recent post a quick read, in particular point 2 - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=19732480&postcount=4 and if they need further clarification that can be provided.

I recommend PCM2 read the request from the OP, in which he originally specified an LED. He may have a certain reason for favouring this type of backlight. I was merely pointing out that the alternative to the original suggestion wasn't what the OP was asking for.

Well the thing is - you said in your post "Yeah but that's LCD not LED" and thus erroneously drew a disinction between the two. It would have been correct to say "that's CCFL-backlit not LED" otherwise you are implying that LED is distinct from LCD. This is where the confusion arrises and it's something I see time and time again. I think you should have picked your own wording more carefully, but regardless of these semantics and your understanding of the technology I have no doubt that the OP himself is under the false impression that 'LED' and 'LCD' are two distinct technologies and he would do well to read the post linked. And to pay attention to the recommendations offered here - most of which will be CCFL-backlit LCD monitors because there is a much broader market with this backlighting type in his price range.

If there was a particular aspect of LED backlighting that the OP was after then he should have been more specific about what exactly he was after. The vagueness of his post makes me feel that he is drawing this distinction without understanding the specifics.

Well perhaps they should rename all screens with LCD in the model name to CCFL, don't these manufacturers know anything :D

I really wish they would. Or at least stop using the word 'LED' without following on with 'backlight'. :D
