looking to buy a new graphics card for my new rig. I am in two minds should I go for this one:

or wait for the 7970, I play MW3, BF3, METRO 2033, CRYSIS 2 on a 27 inch
1920-1080p Monitor and that's with my old graphic card 4870

Crucial RealSSD M4 256GB
Noctua NH-D14-2011
Coolermaster 1000Watt PSU
6970-or 7970!!!

Yeah it is. I currently have a 9800GT and im looking at upgrading to a 460GTX. The 580 is a big step up and is meant to be a brilliant card.

cool may go for that one then. AMD and nvidia both have there good/bad points I guess

I would be inclined to wait to see 7970 launch prices. Fair enough, the 580 is ample, but as tests have shown the 7970 clearly outpaces it.

Im thinking of waiting to see if the 460GTX has a price drop when the newer cards are realised

Yeah pretty steep that. I can't really comment to much, im a skint 20 year old lad, haha

release prices will always be high, im waiting until the Nvidia retort to the 7xxx series myself, because hopefully that will drop 580 prices
