Probably won't cover the CPU/RAM/GPU etc.. that could get cooked, either by a component going haywire or the thing burning down your house

depends on how much ram you want - AFAIK there are only 4 slot x79 evga boards, they don't do a 8 slot solutionseems like i might get an evga this time round.
Hi All
It has come to our attention that certain X79 Series Motherboards (GA-X79-UD3, GA-X79-UD5, GA-X79-UD7, and G1.Assassin 2) may malfunction due to excess heat when performing Extreme Overclocking beyond the board’s limit. To address this issue and to ensure our product is being used as intended, we recommend existing X79 users to visit GIGABYTE’s official website to download and update their X79 series BIOS. The X79 series motherboards not named above are outside the scope of this statement and not applicable.
The latest X79 Series Motherboards BIOS update can be found below:
GA-X79-UD3 – Please update to BIOS F7
GA-X79-UD5 – Please update to BIOS F7
GA-X79-UD7 – Please update to BIOS F7
G1.Assassin 2 – Please update to BIOS F7
The guides for updating BIOS in X79 motherboards can be found at our Official Blog and Forum
New BIOS'es do not limit overclocking capabilities of these motherboards. For example X79-UD3 won some world records at 5.6GHz (57x) with i7 3930K as the world’s first motherboard - have a look below for details:
Super Pi 1M - 6.64 seconds
PiFast – 13.02 seconds
CPU-Z – 5643.3MHz
Metal Mickey's you tube vid?
The guy that posted it admits in the video that he cocked up his settings to cause the issues seen in the vid.
