New Bios out today on Asus website 3101.
After flashing to this windows now loads up even faster, the little windows logo doesnt even appear, i get the start of the 4 colours and then straight to desktop. Well pleased :)

Forget what i said its back to normal with logo coming up and shining lasted 2 restarts tho lol

Flashed mine earlier today( Asus Z68 V/Gen3) but forgot to set RAID mode after(using SSD cache) so got BSOD,anyway quick check and resetting of all BIOS settings back to how they were, all fine now :) .

Are there any report of this going some way to fixing the double boot issue

Did you go into BIOS then Optional Rom Messages and set to "Keep Current",that disables double boot so you don't get third party rom boot messages, hence double boot(not a fault but a BIOS feature that you can enable or disable).

Yes.

The problem I have is roughly once or twice a week, the lights come on, fans spin up, but there is no output to the monitor. The machine resets itself, boots back up, then a flashing white cursor appears in the top right corner of the screen and just stays there forever.

Hard reset, and it posts, but then you get error message saying overclocking failed, press F1, so ctrl+alt+delete and it posts fine, boots into windows.

90% of the week it boots into windows with absolutely no problem whatsoever.

ASUS tech blamed memory, which is a crock sticks pass mem test overnight runs individually.

Maybe overclock too high or not enough voltage for cold boot?...PSU issue maybe, could be a few things.

I did read something about Asus boards will double boot if OC fails(sort of fail safe feature).

I originally thought that too, but it happens at stock too mate. Biggest problem is it doesn't happen all the time, only a couple of times a week, so its a bugger to fault find.

try one or two clicks more vccio voltage,im using 1.5625v

for double asus logo, just disable full screen logo=problem solved

I was at 1.55, have increased. Cheers, anything is worth a shot.

you can safely use upto 1.2v vccio on sb but remember it will blue screen just the same with too much as too little

and use upto 1.5750v for dram, its either one of those or both thats causing cold boots/random freezing ect

Seems like 3202 is out already :S
been reading a few reports of bricked boards on the Asus forums with the 3101(locked red light on vga or cpu).
Not sure if i am allowed to post link ,so i'll not atm lol
Think i'll wait for a while and see how this develops

if you do brick the bios, just pull out the tiny bios chip and buy a pre flashed one off fleabay and pop it in,so no big deal really if you brick the bios
