ambient lighting, professional media and privacy glass are a must IMO too.

It's a case of spec first, colour second. I'm not buying new as I will lose 8K as I drive off the lot and I actually like Silver and though I fancied a change I'm not that bothered.

Agreed, I'd try a darker grey. I'm a convert after owning a black car for years.

Sure the Gunmetal Grey doesn't look quite as good when clean, but it looks far better when dirty. And when the wheels are dirty it suits the car better (wheels are black though).

The car i have is silver - tbh its such a generic colour there is nothing special about it - if putting £30k down i would want something a bit more 'special' - but its all very subjective anyway. The anthracite wood and cream leather in the F10 does look lovely though

If you plan on driving fast in hilly areas, i wouldn't.
The 2.0 diesel sounds like its about to die if you really push it in a 5 series :p

Sorry, totally OT, but Housey do you race in the MX5 Cup? If so, you doing the Knockhill round this year?

Im not sure what my plans are but they won't involved Knockhill for me this year. The car is sitting in my garage, it needs a new engine and a fresh set up but I don't want to spend on it right now. My plans this year are fluid but will most likely involve me getting the car re-engined, weight reduced and set up and then getting it on to some test/track days. From there I will take a view on if I wish to enter an event and where.
