Adobe have released Lightroom 4.1 - a rather hefty 729mb download.

Adds support for Canon 5D Mk III, Nikon D800, Fuji X-Pro 1 and Olympus OM-D E-M5.

Also adds the ability to process HDR TIFF files (16, 32 and 64 bit)

Improves colour fringing removal, plus other bug fixes

Seems a little more responsive.

Also found that they've moved the colour fringing controls under the Colour tab within the Lens Correction settings - for a minute or two I thought there was some sort of bug because it used to be a tick box below the Lens correction settings!

My Lightroom runs so slowly. I think it's time to upgrade my ageing MBP...

Probably takes a good 20 seconds for a zoomed in image to load.

just bought and donwloaded this, it looks very nice and cant see any slow downs

yay.

In develop mode use the clone/heal brush around 30+ times on the same image. My 8gb of ram gets hammered leaving me with less than 1gb and a very slow system.

Love it apart from that niggle.

A lot of people were complaining about the loading times, I hope people are rendering standard or 1:1 previews to prevent this. Also changing the chache size on the settings help, its at 1GB by default, people say by changing it to more than 10GB it often helps.

I knew when I first used LR4 and comparing it to LR 3.5 it was slooooooow, but getting use to LR4 more and more and its becoming more responsive and workable

Just a wee thread hijack... I had Light-room 3 installed on my machine got a copy of 4. Can I just install over the top of 3 and everything will be ok? Don't want to loose any of my libraries or anything.

Thanks

I've just made the move from LR3 to LR4.1, I'm liking the new functionality but am finding it slows considerably when an image has a few spot healing adjustments added to it, something which didn't occur in LR3.

Is it possible to use Lightroom without that "catalogs" thing and without copiyng photos to a separate folder named by date and so? Use it just like a simple photo editor like RawTherapy or so?
