Hi All,

My dad wants to run some wifi scanning tools for work, they're obviously not available via the app store, but there are tonnes of apps available for jailbroken phones.

So, what are the pro's and con's of jailbreaking an iPhone?

Can is be reset to default for warranty/resale purposes?

Thanks for any help.:)

There are very few dangers with jailbreaking and its ridiculously easy to boot.

In the event something does goes wrong plug it into your PC/Mac and restore in iTunes, to the uniformed it would be near on impossible to know if it had even been jailbroken :)

Simples :)

Nope, not if you did a clean restore before you showed them the phone

The genius in store could care less about the product....

Erm, thanks for the input guys. :)

He might not do it, as he could care less about his phone and doesn't want to risk breaking it. ;) I'll let him know however and see how it goes.

I think i read in the T&C that if apple find out you have jailbroken your phone, there allowed to come round to your house and remove anything made by

1 Google

2 Samsung

3 anything Android.

Also there allowed to kill your cat if they feel like it.

nah only kidding i read somewhere that jailbreaking your phone is all good nowadays hence the reason you can speak about it on these forums.

yeah it's your software to do as you wish same with modding consoles etc....

oh wait ;)
