The Z77 Sabertooth Club.

People make a lot of fuss about TRIM, it would take months of huge amounts of data transfers to degrade the performance enough to worry about not having TRIM tbh. It is just a general gaming system and therefore doesn't get a huge amount of use bar gaming, which doesn't involve a lot of data transferring and therefore isn't a cause for concern.

From what I understand, the newer Rapid Storage Drivers do support TRIM within Raid 0, although I've not checked it is working or if there are any problems specific to the Sabertooth Z77.

Pardon me but where is the z77?

Here you go, excuse the poor photography on some of the shots:
The sound card is pretty tight in there, if I used fan clips I suspect I'd have to either bend them to fit and insulate them otherwise it might short on the card. Thankfully due to the rotation of this case it isn't needed. The top fan is also touching the side panel a fair bit, as the thermal armour pushes it forward, the lower one doesn't have that issue.

Overall though, I'm happy, the STX is back in place so no more onboard sound and I like the look of the Phanteks PH-TC14PE Black over the Thermalright Silver Arrow SB-E.

bummer .... just discovered that you can't control the fan speeds for fans connected via 3 pin to the cpu/cpu opt headers.... PWM work fine. 3 pin .... nope

The work everywhere else but not on those specific headers. Anyone else come across this issue - is there a work around ?

Well i jumped ship from Asrock 3 days ago an im loving the board so far, feel a great sturdy product.

The Oc controls are good to use also and plenty of 4 pin connectors for fans :D

Over all so far imo this is a great board an wished i upgraded ages ago.

Well damn...I was just browsing Z77 motherboards and came across this thread. A 20 minute YouTube video later and I am sold! :p I think it will compliment the i7-3770K that I plan to get with it. Going to be jumping from an AMD 960T with a cheapo AM3+ mobo. I honestly can't wait, will be my first Intel CPU :D

Will be ordering around this time next month.

Give your AMD chip a decent sending off and burial ...... I never got to say goodbye properly to my last AMD chip all those years ago.... kinda sad really, as she deserved better than that. :D

Got this board a couple of weeks ago and it really is amazing!

There is however one small issue that I am having with my audio. I have set my sound to 5.1 and configured it exactly as I have for all of my previous builds, but I just cannot get my centre speaker/subwoofer to produce any sound. Anyone come across something like this before or have any suggestions?

Don't like the thought of having to strip this out to return it for a faulty audio jack...hoping I am missing something stupid

Has any one got the latest MVP Virtu for the board the ones that come on the disc are old an i can't find the latest one on there site or Asus to down load :(

Currently running 2.1.1114.22585 an it keeps popping up that there's an update :(

Sorry to ask but what is MVP?

I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and I have downloaded all the latest Asus drivers. I have not seen any pop up for this ?

In The Device Management I do not have any warnings of missing drivers or owt like that.
Have you ?

Sorry, didn't see your reply. Yes the new IRST drivers support TRIM providing your BIOS also has the updated O-ROM module.

There's a guy on the overclockers.net forum who is patching ROMS. I used one that he patched for my Extreme4 and it worked like a charm however I didn't risk trying the Sabertooth BIOS ;)

You know what, I was thinking about creating a see though coaster with the processor clearly visible inside, or something along those lines. I still have a AMD Athlon 3500 and 4800 x2 lying around somewhere, so might have to do something to them as well. :D

Its a graphics booster for the I chip set,on-board graphics.

If your running the Z77 board then you more than likely haven't installed it if its not showing up in notification as the one that comes on the installation disc is not up to date.

Also you might not have your cpu graphics enabled in bios if yours aint showing.

Ohhhhh. It seems just to be a gamer thing. Not into playing games on my PC.
Getting too old. I am a Resi Evil 2 fan and to be honest I still only play that or Sonic really on mi Mega Drive.

My graphics card is letting my system down but I dont worry about it too much. I only have an Asus GeForce 8500 GT. It only cost me around £30.

I bet the Sabertooth Z77 on board graphics would be better for me. If I had an HDMI monitor. I have the LG W2243S.

I guess you have seen this page

Yeah im getting on abit me self ;)

Resi originals imo are one of the best franchise games made, but from R4 up wards i don't like them :(

That was the Lucid page i thought i linked my bad :D
