Hi All,

I'm looking to purchase a Intel Core i5-4670K with an MATX motherboard.

I had been looking at the following listed below:

YOUR BASKET
1 x ASRock Z87 PRO4 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £113.99
1 x Asus Z87M-PLUS Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £106.99
1 x Gigabyte Z87M-D3H Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £97.99
Total : £318.97 (includes shipping : FREE).

I'd like to overclock above 4 Ghz if possible, is this achievable with the lower end Z87 motherboards?

Would anyone be able to recommend which board I should go with? Are there any significant differences?

I appreciate Haswell has only just come out so detailed reviews of these boards are not readily available.

Thanks for any help anyone is able to provide.

4GHz is easily achievable with a lower end board.

I would go with a Gigabyte board as you get a great warranty, dualBIOS (a nice safety featuer)

I have a bit of a dilemma for haswell mobo. Always has been an Asus user, however Asus ROG Extreme is out of my budget, I was thinking about Gigabyte as well.

So should I go for Asus Z87 Sabretooth, GA X OC, Asus Z87 Deluxe, or UD5, I am aiming for around 250 squid.

Any advice ?

The Asus range (apart from the ROG boards) look proper nasty.

If you are using a case then the Z87X-OC main features such as OCtouch, all the dip switches to disable slots, clearCMOS, reset buttons, dualBIOS disable buttons and so on and so on....won't be easily accessible to you.

Making the UD5H a more sensible option.
