I'm testing out my pair of GTX780s (at about 1150Mhz). In the Heaven 4.0 benchmark they're right about where I would expect them to be (~2700 points). However on this benchmark they're a good few hundred points behind the curve... I'm getting ~4200 when I would expect to be around 4700.
Is this benchmark particularly CPU limited? I'm running an old i7-930 at 3.8Ghz right now so that could explain the discrepancy. Also, whenever a scene changes my framerate tanks down to the mid-40s for a short while (while the screen is black), before coming back to ~100fps when the scene is active. Is this the same for everyone? I'm assuming it's loading the scene into memory, but it really drags down the framerate. Is there some form of pre-caching available?
