Round 38 - Results
So in a complete contrast to the rest of the season, I thought I'd finish by getting the results out on the same day as the games were actually played. Who'd have thought it?
Drawoh Tesremos would be proud
The season was definitely finished in style. Without checking back through each week, I'm reasonably confident in saying that
gilchrd's 18 points makes him the top weekly scorer of the entire season! Massive congratulations to you, that is a huge score. Myself and Cliffy G make up the podium in another week where half of us managed double figures, which is excellent.
So here it is, 380 possible predictions later and we have the final results (showing those with 100 predictions or more).
Under significant pressure, and most definitely against the run of form, somehow
I managed a decent enough week to take a somewhat undeserved win after recent performances! It's definitely a fix

. In terms of second and third, it's quite incredible that after so many games, second place is decided in
Ripper's favour by a single additional scoreline over
The Pat.
It's also congratulations to
Tiger Woops, who manages to claim Champions League football at the expense of BaZ87 in the final week.
BaZ does deserve a special mention, however, as he along with Pat, Tiger and Cosimo managed to predict every single game, despite my best efforts at getting the threads up late!
Finally, it's congratulations to
The Pat who, when we consider the number of correct predictions regardless of scoreline, is the overall winner with 218. That's 21 more than last years' winner of the same award (Tiger Woops and Nossmayo).
Finally we have the much-anticipated Points Per Prediction table. I knew someone would request it eventually, it's only taken a few years of trying to mess with the format of this long-standing game! This is the indicator of quality over quantity, for those who managed to predict a bit less.
A special mention to this weeks' winner
gilchrd, who clearly would've been much higher up the overall table if he'd predicted more games.
Looking at
last years' table we have yet another improvement in the overall scoring, with a few of us breaking the 300 points barrier this time round.
Cheers to everyone for playing, hope you enjoyed it.
