Not too much longer for the FPL to start, or you could always do ridiculously early bets like bayern to win the bundesliga (1/6 bargain but need to wait almost a year to cash it in)
I cba with that sort of thing anymore unless I find something exceptional. Also backing a huge favourite on a season-long bet means effectively you tie up a fair chunk of bankroll (given that you need to back it heavily to make any sort of money at 1/6), which may limit the funds you have to spend on other short-term bets.
I can see the logic in small wager punts on long term high odds / accas etc but for me there isn't much excitement in say locking away £500 for 9 months and ending up with under a ton profit at the end of it.
Like any addiction with gambling after a while you need to get instant/rapid highs which is probably why in-play has been so successful (obviously depends on individual as to how they view gambling in terms of career/hobby/bit of fun etc).
