Tried running the bench in tri-fire, Matt?
Not yet mate, just overtaking those pesky 6 core Nvidia users for now.
I will have a go with three cards soon. I would not expect any special at 1080 at all, 1440p might be a bit better though.

There is a nasty CPU bottleneck around 110fps iirc

If you want to dominate another game scoreboard on OcuK with your 290X try out the Dirt Showdown bench thread. It's very cheap to buy these days and is very well optimized. (the AMD way)
I'd also recommend trying out CIV on Mantle when it hits.
But kaap already beating a highly clocking 980 with a 1270core 290x

On Single card very well. You will destroy everything posted at any res. With Crossfire you may find a slight cpu bottleneck at 1080P but 1440P and higher will
