** SAPPHIRE 290X 8GB IS BACK AND LOW LOW PRICE!! **

Gibbo is there any chance of talking with Sapphire to get the price cheaper on these 8gb 290's or to get Sapphire onboard with 4gb Tonga 285's including their itx version..

We already did that, when they told us, they gave us some discount which is reflected already in the price. :)

I never pay price list price. :)

1, I thought all these had gone after the first run and it was limited.

2, I've just shelled out £1000 for underfloor heating materials for the kitchen.

ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!! (Hunts for credit card)

Are there any benchmark comparisons with these vs titans in crossfire/tri etc? Can't seem to find any !

There are, see links below. The best person to ask about this is Kaap, as he uses four of each. The 290X is the ultimate 4K card when gaming at maximum image quality settings. The only limitation it has in a few specific scenarios at 4K are its 4GB of vram. The 290X 8GB solves that minor problem.

4K Gaming Benchmarks - Dominated by Radeons

Dirt Showdown
Sleeping Dogs
Sniper Elite V3
Alien Isolation
Sniper Elite V2
Batman Arkham Origins
Shadow Of Mordor

Are you seeing a pattern yet? :)

Ok but I still think there's room for a drop :)

How about the 285 4gb versions have you any news on when or if they'll be coming?

I would take a couple to if they had reference blowers but the cost of blocking these as well ontop of buying 2 cards means il wait till the next gen amd cards come out.

Its dropped £110, that will do, over 10 pre-sold already, the price is good. :)

285 4GB, nothing yet.

Just a question are these amd reference boards with the extra ram on?
I ask this as if so would you be able to replace the cooler with reference blower of my to cards then I could sell my 4gb cards with the saphire cooler on.

2 x 290s don't seem to cut it at 4K, so I'd want 3 of these if I were to get them. but the air cooler would prevent 3 cards I believe.
So then you need to watercool, but being unique PCB the blocks will need to be made specifically for these, which could cause stock issues.

While I suspect the Vapor-X is an awesome card, I too would like a reference PCB with a blower cooler.

Of course then I'll be annoyed that I just bought my 980s...

I may be wrong, but I think that's one of the key differences between the Tri-X and the Vapor-X. The Tri-X is reference PCB and the Vapor-X isn't.

EK have been making blocks to suit both 4 & 8gb versions for some time now.

You get me reference versions and I'll take four don't worry. :)

That's three of us that want the reference cooler now Gibbo and 9 potential 290X 8GB cards with reference coolers that would be sold. Give us a reference 290X 8GB glorious AIB's.
