The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

I'm absolutely amazed by this card, I changed the core clock to 1350MHz with stock voltage and ran firestrike, max temp 70degrees and I can't even hear the fans going. Maybe I'm just used to a noisy card but I cannot believe how good this card is. Glad I stuck with the AMP and didn't opt for the more expensive cards.:D

Good to hear Thx.

I received mine but on holiday atm, so won't have time to play with it for a while

Zotac 980Ti AMP! Update: Fans DO turn off at idle.

hexus review said:
But there is a catch. Zotac's fans don't turn off at idle, so the card is never silent, and the 90mm trio aren't the quietest, either. Fan speed was recorded as 39 per cent at low-load (roughly 1,350rpm) and increased to 67 per cent (2,350rpm) when gaming.

The above from the Hexus review is incorrect. They do actually turn off at idle. It even has a sticker on the card when you open it that says:

Freeze Tech.
Integrating performance, silence and efficiency into cooling.
REMOVE BEFORE FIRST USE.
Fans will stop spinning in low loads

Yup, already pointed that out over at Hexus. Maybe they'll change it.

Love it when big sites make weird mistakes like that.

It is very likely that their pre-release review sample had an older vBIOS on it, making the fan profile completely different to the retail releases.

Just about to install my EVGA 980ti SC and then do some benchmarks.

Also my boss stole my pack of Haribo that came with the card :( I shall make him pay dearly for this insult!

Just got it installed, seems to be just as quiet and as cool as my previous MSI 980 Gaming. Looks very well built and very solid. The backplate is the coolest part of the card though, makes the card look like a weapon. Not ran any games yet, but every thing seems fine so far (fingers crossed).

No Haribo :(

Mine arrived earlier today and i'm VERY pleased with it :). Not tried any overclocking yet and I might not even see the need to. It boosts to 1290MHz by default at 1.18V according to the GPU-Z readings. It has an ASIC score of 79.7% if anyone is interested in that kind of thing.

I personally think the cooler is one of the quieter triple fan types I've come across... It doesn't sound that loud or intrusive when gaming. I must admit the card is heavier than it looks!

are you adding the extra 87mv in precision x ?

also check your asic quality in gpu z , mine are quite low (one 60.2% and one 63.3%) meaning they require more voltage to operate at the rated boost clocks and will inevitably run hotter (65c under load for the top card)

Also 63% for me. The 87mv have been added, while on 3DMark the card has very short spikes @1.237mv, but mostly stays @ 1.212.

Right now the settings are: +87mw/107%/+110Mhz core/+300Mhz memory. Which is totally fine really, it stays around 1464 Mhz, but I do want that 1.5.

Didn't realise that bios on OCN keeps the card constantly at 1.274V.

Not sure I like that.

Might try the one that just ups the tdp... not sure will maintain 1500 on that one though

Benching at +380 core +650 mem - that's 1595mhz core and 8316mhz ram.

This card is an absolute monster! Gonna push 1600mhz on the core tomorrow.

Flash your stock bios back and then try flashing it with the 1.281v bios again.

Just sold my first 970 4G for 248£. Love Ebay, crazy people around.

By the way, for who has the Inno3d, don't forget the Steam code for 3D Mark hidden underneath the card!

Got a G1 on the way but didn't realise the AMP Extremes were due on the 2nd, thought they would be much later...I know im splitting hairs at this point but does anyone have any thoughts on G1 vs AMP Extreme?

Couldn't resist, picked up a G1 Gaming earlier from OcUK on a whim and it *rocks* !!!! 1530/8000 so far :) Gone down to 1440p again and 1 card is fine, although I was very tempted by a pair!! Just no point til I get sorted with a 144Hz G-Sync monitor  (currently 60Hz)

And a big-up to Mr Ross who bought the same card and managed to leave his card in the card machine!! Got outside to him in time to give it back ;) :D

If I'm going to the store tomorrow which one am I buying! I just cannot decide! Its likely I'll go sli in the future..so getting the best oc'er isn't a primart concern.

HELP...at this rate I'll turn up at the store and not know what to buy
