Been doing a spot of tinkering with my 5820k setup this evening. Basically ive set XMP for my 3000mhz ram kit, (so 125 strap is in use). Started with 32x multi gradually working upto 36x. Auto voltage for quick tests using intel XTU. Anything below 36x multi the vcore is maxing at 1.228, 1.322 on 36x. Max core temp of 83c at 36x125 for 4.5ghz. Is this an ok temp and voltage, ill be hoping to lower the latter by manually adjusting. Spec in sig.

Thanks in advance for any advice/input.:)

Can I just ask does the same sort of setting apply to the 5930k?

I have 2400mhz memory and just run it as that. I use a strap of 100mhz and I have it [email protected]

So if I just boost the multiplier to 44 and raise the voltage to say 1.25v is it doable or do I ahve to play around with the strap settings?

Yep, seems pretty ok so far. Hopefully I can get it running a little cooler, currently using an alpenfohn k2 dual tower with x2 corsair sp 2350 rpm fans.

Yeah the same sort of setting and volts for all 3 of those higher end cpus. Putting the voltage at 1.25 for 44 will most likely be enough.

Nice Neil.:)

I'll have a proper crack at mine over the weekend. Id say auto voltage is maybe feeding it a bit more than needed. Even 4.4 or so would be grand with lower temps. Bit of an older chip this so maybe not as good a clocker as recent J batch ones.
