A HD Monster Hunter game on PC?!?! What? Where?!? A shame that beefy rig couldn't maintain 60 fps on this when it can for most other games. I also noticed a little screen-tearing, though not too much. Would've been nice for a V-sync option.

so god damn frustrating that you can't play any game from the Monster Hunter series in true 1080p outside of Asia >.<

those screens look AMAZING compared to the craptastic 3DS.

So true. As a MH fan, I'm kinda sad that my only option for MH besides WiiU is the 3DS. Most of all, it's uncomfortable to play on a handheld, with or without the circle pad pro. They mainly make MH games on handheld (they were mostly PSP before the 3DS) due to the primary audience being Japanese. The explanation is that the 3DS is the most popular gaming system in Japan, most folks there don't have time to play on PC/console so they do most of their gaming on the go while on long commutes to/fro work/school. I know a few folks living in Japan who have attested to this. A shame there's no HD Monster Hunter in the West (besides the WiiU version which not too many folks bought :c).

Fantastic looking game... what Engine is it? :D

Just to answer your question, it's on CryEngine 3. A shame it's China-only with no plans to bring it to the West, though it does seem to have been Asianised for a free to play MMO (made extra grindy and dodgy micro-transaction model).
