The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

How do you check Crimson for profiles, Matt? I read the other day that there is a way to check but I've forgotten now and can't find the URL.

You can search through a list of pre defined profiles, similar to how you do it in CCC. Just select pre defined profile then you can browse or search. Some profiles are not included in this list though, some are hard coded into the driver and don't appear in the list. Most of them should be in there though.

I tried Crimson, it broke several games (most notably Rocket League, 100+ fps felt like 15fps) so I went back to Catalyst - problem solved ;D
I'll try Crimson again after a few more driver revisions, see if it gets sorted.

Finally time to retire the HD5870 I decided...

Baclplate is such an awesome colour, matches the rest of the build from the link in my sig which I'll do an update on soon :)

Just got to drain the system and rebuild it all yet again before I can play with this :D

Nice, Nem.

Did you have any trouble removing the stock block+pump?

The only problem was locating the screws on the backplate, Sapphire have got a full glossy black sticker over the entire back of the card. Had to google the stock image to see where they were. Then managed to peel it back enough on each side to get the 4 screws out without damaging the sticker in the end.

Was a bit surprised to then see a "warranty void if removed" sticker on the gpu retaining clip, I thought I'd read about most current providers being ok with installing aftermarket water blocks. Certainly had me sat there for a minute hoping to not end up with a £500 doorstop with no support...

To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your Fury X.

Add me to the list :D

Proud owner of a little beast here. (R9 Nano)

Which must say is just 1cm longer than an EVGA GTX650Ti (the small one) and twice as heavy. However cannot stop giggling with the sheer difference size of it compared to the 295X2 (I will take a pic next to each other later.)

Time to see what it can do :D

Size is not important. (when it comes to graphics cards - thanks to the Nano) :D

Well two days in and I'm blown away. GTA V with everything maxed out on 1440p and it's transformed the game. Project Cars looked good before but oh my :)

One thing I did do was flick the switch for the activity lights to be blue rather than red to match my system, but as the pc has a window and is sat on the desk right next to me they are getting a bit annoying. Problem is now with the backplate on the card I can't get to the switches to turn them off. Doh.

But yeah, awesome bit of kit indeed!

OK few hours gaming with the Nano, I really like it.
Very very quiet. I do not believe at any moment went more than "idle" fan speed during gaming! And hit 65C churning out FPS like mad.
I like it. :D
Haven't overclocked it yet. That will come over weekend when planning to do some benches, before I say farewell to the 4820K.

Guys, how we overclock the Fury? Using MSI AB, put the power to 50% raised the Core and nothing. The benchmarks I tested it on, are running at stock speed :/

I use msi AB for the nano which I believe you have and it applies fine. Without sounding off did you apply the setting :) may need to ramp the fan up a tiny bit as with the stock fan profile it does throttle at times so the extra overclock may not show?

Hmm, tried but nothing. Could be anything tbh :(
Not that matter, at 1080p atm, ain't worth to ramp it up. When I get my 2730Z back then........

Btw what is the switch on the side of the card? The manual doesn't mentions anything...

EDIT Looks like MSI AB doesn't like it. But Asus Tweak works fine.
The Nano run the first run Valley Extreme at +50% power limit, first try 1070/510 fine. Second try crashed a 1100/510. I will fine tune it over the next few days to find the sweet spot.
But she is going under water either way, when I decide between 6600K and 4690K, for the new small factor setup.
(the difference is £100 between the two, but Skylake includes 16GB DDR4 on that price and mITX, and I will defo switch to Zen. Already sold the 4820K and need to dismantle it tomorrow night to send it on Saturday).
