When paying big money for a 980 Ti people should look at the TitanX.
My EVGA Kingpin 980 ti's are both faster than the Asus Matrix Techpowerup reviewed but I prefer a single TX for gaming as they also overclock very well and come with 12gb of VRAM.
Having said that if someone is looking to spend around £500 then go for a 980 Ti everytime.
If people are going to spend nearly £700 on a 980 Ti they should have a look at a TitanX.

Yeah, paying that much for a 980 Ti is crazy when the cheaper ones are so good.
Speaking of which I've just been playing around with overclocking and I've lucked out. I got +494 MHz on the memory to reach 2000MHz and after some trial and error +120 MHz on the core. Coupled with a power limit of 139% and +35 mV the core boosts all the way up to the magical 1500 MHz mark! So happy, any lingering buyers remorse was washed away. With the OC I got a Heaven 4 score of 2639, a full 82% higher than my 970 at max OC! I know that won't translate in most games but damn!

yea I totally agree. I have a friend that paid £700 for a 980ti Hybrid...far too much money!
Heaven 4 performance does tend to translate to games but mostly at high resolution where the CPU is not bottlenecking the cards.

So i got this nice box before work today Opened it up to find something amazing!
Thought ive got a bit of time lets have a look at this thing
It's quite well packaged and i'm quite amazed at the quality of the card. Just looking at it yells quality. It's quite a beast as well, a 3 slot card which is about 12 inches in length and is quite heavy too which is understandable with how big it is. Which is okay for me as i only ever use a single card but it is big!
Anyway for anyone who is interested I took some pics, thought it needed some justice! Can't wait to try it out as its been a while since iv'e been with a nVidia card.. Feel dirty

Have you checked the cooling config on EKWB website?
No I hadn't , thanks. From doing so it doesn't appear to be compatible with it.
It doesn't have to be the Gigabyte though, there are other options according to the website.
Ideally I want a 2 x 8 pin high performance 980 Ti that is compatible with the full cover Titan X block and back plate.
Edit - It seems all the reference Titan PCB's are 1x6, 1x8 pin. Oh well, next plan!

Check out the EVGA cards, I think they are all reference PCBs except the Classy.
It seems that the EVGA Classified has a full cover block available and is 2x8 pin. That might be the one!
On the OverclockersUK website it says it's 1x6, 1x8 pin though. I'm confused.com!??

While i'm here anyone know of any great tuts for over clocking a 980ti? Just found one for 970/980 im looking at right now but prefer to see what sort of temps / clocks to be aiming for.

You do get a full cover block for the Classy.
By full cover I meant one that physically covers the length of the card, not just the GPU, RAM, Mosfets etc.
As far as I can see on the EK site, a full length block on the Classy is only for the Kingpin. Other full length blocks only fit the Titan X PCB.
I will be happy to be proven wrong!
