Yeah pre-Crimsons are fine, im still on the 15.9.1 BETAs as i can't update them due to the bouncing clocks, and the host of other issues the Crimsons have.

i may have to give these drivers ago.

core clock is annoying me now and was hoping it would have been fixed by now.

think the last set of drivers i tried was 15.11

I like the idea of it being an option, if you want full performance, then you can have it, and if you want to game on your idle clocks, then you can have it, just don't force us to game on our idle clocks.

So I have a 380 coming in the post tomorrow and I won't be overclocking. The only current game I have is GTA V - everything else is pretty ancient. What drivers would you knowledgeable chaps recommend?

I'd go with the latest (16.2) and see how you go. Some people (me included) are running them without issues where others in this thread have issues with the power saving features stopping the card running at full speed and causing issues. If you're fine with 16.2, great, if they cause you issues then try older drivers or 3rd party apps like Clockblocker to stop this issue until AMD fix it.

this is much better. Crossfire profile for Fallout 4 was broke on launch of that driver, but they fixed it within 24 hours. 16.2 driver last week with The Division crossfire profile, and now today with Far Cry driver. Much better, although we have no idea how they actually perform yet, still good to see on time driver releases with crossfire profiles.

Hope my reported issue gets fixed. If i watch a twitch stream on my second monitor whilst playing a game on my first monitor i get frequent but random FPS drops in-game. League of Legends seems to be the worst affected by it.

I just edited my bios and increased the core voltage, it stops the black screens on boot ya get from third party overclocking programs. No more DDU every time i mess up an overclock :)

Might be worth a try for you Finners if ya still having problems with your 290. According to the guide i followed it voids your warranty though so its only worth trying on old cards.
