** NVIDIA GTX 1080 FOUNDERS EDITION: WANNA PRE-ORDER?

End of the day they cranked up the prices stupidly, some people thought under £600 for a 980Ti was stupidly expensive last year.. these regular 1080's getting on for 700 some of them.

When you consider you can get a used 980Ti for 200 quid or so cheaper and is only 10-20% slower when overclocked.. bit of a joke.

Even without any gouging, etc. these were never going to be cheap cards - TSMC 16nm costs a fair bit more to nVidia than 28nm.

My god the stress. While trying to order frantically (Asus Strix Version) that song someone posted: "hot hot hot" was looping. I ordered @ CaseKing since OCUK doesn't have Belgium listed as shipping address for some reason ?

Nice one to all who have ordered the FE cards and enjoy guys. Anyone know when the FTW's are due in? No info that I could see on the site or did my very tired eyes miss it?

the FTW edition was told to me by phone to be arriving to my door on 11th june

Ok boys, back to the price whinging now, I am off to play The Division on my super slow Titan X whilst waititng for my EVGA FTW to arrive :p

Are you going to be ok on that Titan X..? :/

@Tyler, I'm in the same boat. but seeing as you have 2 980ti's I don't think the cost would be worth it unless you got a good price for 'em.

This is looking good for 1070 pricing...:D

I'd say that's the most positive thing to come out of all this, and it is looking promising for the 1070, fingers crossed! EVGA particularly, as they would be my brand of choice and their pricing isn't anywhere near as extreme as I was expecting. 1070 FTW could be a very sweet card at this rate. :)

Anyone that had a Ti and just bought a 1080 and gets them tomorrow or went to the shop and had them. Please let me know if its a worthy jump.

I'm kinda doubting my purchase a little bit and thinking it may not be worth it. Would love to hear some feedback before my order gets sent out tomorrow or monday.

Want my opinion?

You just spent £1240 in GFX hardware....That will be out of date in 6 months

But its only money mate.

:p

Yeah..

1070 no upgrade over a 980ti but if the cost to me is nothing then that's fine by me....

I''ll happy have the same performance for a few months and get a 1080ti in winter or new year...

Plus I can kid myself I'll have 2 more GB of ram lol for free

Quite proud of myself tbh. I resisted the hype...But the pricing is a outrageous!

I reckon if I can buy a 1070 for 349 or less I wouldn't lose that much on it when I come to sell it....Bit like the 970 cards holding value over the 980's

Lets face it I can buy a 1080 now for 529 so I can't see a 1070 card being 399 tbh....

The gap between the 1080 and the 1070 is a lot bigger than a 970 and 980.

cards are always worth half what you paid over the course of about 9 months give or take.... you can live your life waiting or just get on with gaming

I don't quite know why people think they are "smart" for depriving themselves of fun and enjoyment... you can't take it with you!

What a bizarre statement, Games suddenly become more fun because you spent £550+ on an overpriced mid range GPU that really isn't much of an upgrade over the 980Ti?

Yeah now the dust has settled I am off to play MGS on my dead old tech that is now next to useless 980ti that has no value. Oh how it struggles so. :p

Well despite having credit card at the ready, i just couldnt go through with it! I mean literally OCUK are listing pre orders on reference cooled cards for 529 and hybrid watercooled ones at under 600 quid.

Nvidia are just pulling a complete con on this one im gonna wait

Yeah i think I may cancel my order and wait a few weeks for custom cards. Prices to drop etc etc.

If anything i will grab the SC versions and save myself £100.

My Ti's to be honest are still bang on in SLI. A LOT of money for these cards.

I'd rather hear from you lot how they perform first. Before dropping £1200 down possibly for a minor performance jump.

yeah...

I wised up last minute...People are kidding themselves that its an upgrade over a 980ti...

Its just not

Its not even worth the 150 quid for me fro the sale of the 980ti to get a cheap base one at 529...

I'll get a 1070 instead.
