No it isn't.

People still have to catch up on the fact that 1070 and 980Ti are the same card, unless DX12 is involved, then the 1070 is faster.

The prices are what they are because there's not enough supply, Nvidia doesn't make more if retailers raise their prices.

Im pretty happy with my 1070 Armor OC from MSI. While the cooler plastik it does a fine job without being annoying to listen to. Boosts out the box with no fiddling to 1900+ which i think is okay. Wouldn't mind another one but im not paying 410 pounds(rough convert from DKK) for it though, gonna wait until the prices drop.

mine arrived yesterday, thankfully I ordered it just before brexit.
clocks to 2065 no bother, wouldn't do 2100 tho.
never seen temps go over 65 so well happy.

Is the MSI GAMING X worth the ~£10 more than the ARMOR OC?

I notice the slightly higher speeds, will it run hotter or does it have better fans to compensate?

Struggling to pick a 1070, noticed the GAMING X has just come back in stock this morning.

I think is mostly aesthetic and the Gaming has better construction (also likely to hold better value whenever you decide to sell it).

For 10£ I would just get the Gaming X.

Also if you buy it ask OCUK (guess you have to call them) to price match it to 415£, since it's available elsewhere for that price.

Fairly happy with it so far. Still need to tweak my settings to get the best out of 1440p gaming.

Decided to return my FE as the 70% fan speed I needed to maintain around 1950mhz at 83c was starting to grate on me last night

I thought I could manage but anyway... MSI 1070 Gaming X will be here tomorrow!

installed my 1070 FE last night and fairly happy but slight buyers remorse.

It's replaced an msi 290 gaming which was thermal throttling in a silverstone sg10 case. The 1070 fan goes between 70-80% to keep the temps between 70-80c with the bottom side case on. With the side off it's below 60% so I need to sort out some better air flow in there.

Adaptive and Fast v-sync options don't seem to work very well with Witcher 3, both seemed to give a small amount of screen tearing and some slight stuttering. At 1200p I can pretty much max everything out apart from hairworks with v-sync on. Hairworks uses up about 15% gpu power and the effect is pretty crap, kinda prefer it with it off anyway.

Have finally bitten the bullet and pre ordered an EVGA 1070 SC, not from here sadly as the price increases were too extreme

I don't think Adaptive and Fast are supposed to be used together, Adaptive will give you tearing as it simply disables V-Sync under 60 fps.
