Anyone used, ZOTAC's RMA?

LOL, Hong Kong? That's Zotac off my list of purchases.
Same here, It's also something worth mentioning when recommending them on the forum now I know. Seems that it's now down to choosing between EVGA and err EVGA :)

Zotac asked you to sent card to Hong Kong? Something not right!

I did a bit of research found that Zotac do have UK RMA base in Reading, so did you told Zotac where you are from? Then they would direct it to Zotac UK RMA base, not Hong Kong RMA base.

I would suggest you to sent Zotac another email ask them to change RMA address from Hong Kong to UK.

Ahh my old neck of the woods too, Woodley stinks like a sewer thanks to the plant there, Just thought I'd mention that :D

I believe Gigabyte and KFA2 are the only ones with UK RMA.

EVGA has Germany RMA, MSI is Netherlands so they're not a lot more expensive than UK.

It seemed to me that all AIBs now have UK RMA bases.

Only found UK phone number for KFA2 and traced it way back to Partners IT, I was surprised didn't know that BFG Tech used the same UK repair company Partners IT back in 2010.

^^^^ When I was considering a Zotac Extreme 1070 I rang the UK based call centre and they told me that they no longer accept any RMA's. All customers now have to send their cards direct to Hong Kong.

That and the size and weight of the Zotac, coupled with the excellent customer service of the UK based Gigabyte influenced me to buy their Gaming 1070 card.

Have heard that they can have coil whine, and that the cooling fins at the edges often come bent. Did that happen to you?

Nope the card is perfect (Gigabyte Gaming 1070) and runs as quiet as I would expect. Clocks a the typical Pascal clocks as well - although that is more of a lottery.

For me the UK based RMA and great service that Gigabyte offer was important.

Yeah definitely. Don't think I'll ever stray from UK RMA. Almost went Palit, but a potential 4 week delay really put me off.

I actually ordered a Palit, after deciding against the Zotac, but changed that order and paid the extra for the Gigabyte.

AFAIK MSI returns are to the Netherlands, regardless of where their call centre is based in the UK.

what about Inno3D and Palit what kind of warranty they have ?

They offer 3 & 2 year warranties, but their RMA centres are in Southern Asia. Also, I don't think they let you reapply thermal paste/install a water cooling block without voiding the warranty (even though that isn't legal under the law).

Inno3d is 3 years and I seem to remember that it has to be sent off to Hong Kong

I registered my Zotac 1070 and received an email confirming receipt of submission for the extended warranty. Did anyone get an email after the initial automated email?

Yep, after I registered it I received an email with all the details I entered including the S/N

Out of interest, Who would not register their product as soon as it is up and running?

First thing I do after I have anything up and running with a warranty is register it...

For those asking I chose not to send my 780 off for RMA to ZOTAC.

My hard crash problems went away for 2 months which is annoying because it seems they are back and I never found out what the cause is.

So do it now. The whole point of a warranty is having the support available so use it while you can, make sure to document the problem in case they have problems duplicating it.

they are brilliant. Had to rma a 780 ti after 4 years use. Dispatched it as instructed UK based for testing. Took just 2 days to reciece it text it and confirm i was entitled to a replacement. they offered me a 980 i was a little disappointed as were now on the 10 series cards. i cheekily asked for a part exchange or the ti version of the 980. they did some digging round and got me the 980 ti amp. I'm chuffed as although not a 1070 its pretty damn close and gives me a 50% performance increase. Customer service was excellent, quick to email me back, kept me upto date and delivered within 12 hours !! Excellent
