The Pascal GTX 1080 Owners Thread

Anyone with the Zotac AMP verfiy if there is LED's and what color? Do you need to run these crappy apps that have came with pascal? And people wonder why Pascal is being outed as having latency problems when people use tools to change the led.

This is something i need to avoid i just need a 8+8pin 1080 i can oc without having blinding LED's or a crappy buggy resource eating app.

I've got the AMP Extreme which has them. I just use the Zotac software to mess about with the lights (Firestorm). Works fine as it's basically just their version of afterburner. I don't need it running for the lights to keep my settings.

I wont even put it on my system i would refuse to download so whats it going to be like with me installing Nvidia drivers? Is it going to be a christmas tree and what colors?

On the gigabyte G1 1080 is there a way to stop the led changing colours

downloaded the gigabyte app and didn't work .. same as the Nvidia visualizer that's does bugger all

I used the gigabyte xtreme tool. it worked fine.

don't know if you are using it but don't use OC guru as its end of life.

I believe they are just white by default.

I've got the Palit SS 1080 and the LED Visualiser did work immediately after installing, so I set it to alarm only. Since rebooting, the LEDs can no longer be controlled and are fixed on green. I guess a driver glitch they'll hopefully iron out.

Just wondered if anyone could record their fan noise on their zotac amp extreme edition at springs 30-40-% fan speed? Think my fans are making a bit of a clicking noise and not sure if it's normal. If anyone could test and upload a sound clip that would be ideal. I tend to notice it more after long R6 Siege sessions.

Be careful only on the VRM pads (the small ones, size 1). Some of the VRMs do not want to be cooled , so you have to be extra careful when you tip around the card to screw it, not to lose any of them.

I propose as you fit the card put couple of screws on, before you tip it over to put the rest.

And when you complete the work, check with a flashlight to the opposite direction of your eye to see that all pads make contact with the block.

I have the Zotac Extreme AMP

There seem to be 2 versions of the firestorm, one works one doesn't but you can turn the LEDs off or just adjust the brightness.

I did have the gigabyte G1 and the extreme app worked for me. It was a bit hit and miss though.

After just 51 short days, my MSI 1080 Gaming X arrived, not from OCUK as it was on a certain retailer for £598 very briefly on 3/4th July.

Will try and get it fitted tomorrow, replaces my MSI 780 Ti Gaming
