Be very careful getting B grade monitors

I ordered a b grade LG 34UC88, I received an LG 34UC98 which was missing all the cables except the power cable and has a lovely crack at the top center of the screen.

Although Overclockers.co.uk were prompt in arranging a collection and refund they are "unable to replace it" leaving me without a monitor which I require for work for a week while I wait for the refund to process. This will sadly make me think twice before using overclockers.co.uk for large/expensive items again.

edit: I have spoken to 'James' and he has resolved the issue, I will be receiving a replacement (a brand new one) as soon as this monitor is collected tomorrow he will send it out so I will have no downtime, that is good customer service.

I have spent thousands of pounds on Overclockers over the years and good customer service goes a VERY long way to deciding where to spend my money, speaking to James and getting this resolved this way has outdone 'Scan' on their best customer service which means I am more likely (as in I will be) spend my money when I need computer components at Overclockers even if the components are a few extra quid. I have updated the review to reflect this. Customer service is VERY important to me and I'm always prepared to spend a little extra if it's guaranteed.

The guy I spoke to on the phone before James didn't sound very interested in helping me with the issue I had and by the sounds of it was either having a very bad day or forgot his morning coffee.

You ordered B Grade, this is the risk you take. B Grade is rolling stock they don't keep several in.

Also huge images need to be in spoiler tags.

Fixed (sorry most of the forums I use have media tags).

I was told before ordering that all b grade stock is checked before being shipped out, but if they can't even send the right models out then that doesn't instil confidence

For what it's worth i bought a B Grade LG 29UM68 from OCuk and it was in good shape, but i had my previous monitor spare just in case (still do... going to test drive this screen for a month before saying goodbye to the previous one).
I hope that your refund is processed quicker than a week!

Dunno, it doesn't sound like Overclockers wish to work with me on this and insist it MUST be a refund, no store credit or anything which means I'm going to be out of work for another week (at minimum) and bored af as I'll have nothing to do as well.

I assume you've tried to contact them on the forums and via webnotes? Sorry if you don't get anywhere :/

Always a risk with b-grade, ive bought loads of bgrade stuff and only had one so far i wasnt completely happy with and they took it back nps.

Its a shame your stuck without a monitor though, give them a ring and explain it maybe they will give you faster delivery on the monitor you buy to replacement so your not without one for too long.

edit: nvm looks like you got it sorted.

Would also help if OcUK actually had the items they advertise as B grade.

Ordered a **B Grade** LG 34UM68 34" 2560x1080 FREESYNC IPS WideScreen monitor over the weekend.

Showed in stock.
Order accepted.
Money taken.

Got a message today that the item didn't exist.

Well miffed

Probably lost in the warehouse

I can understand when small items, like cable combs, get down to 1 or 2 , that they might not be accurate after you buy in 1000s at a time.

But a 34" monitor ?

They must have had it at some stage to bother making the seperate 'B grade' advert for it.

Went from looking forward to tracking info today to being told it doesn't exist.

Ruined my day, and yes i'm still annoyed.

They only list half a dozen, or so, monitors as B Grade - How bloody hard is it to count them before advertising and taking your money ?

our system was showing one in stock however it's possible on the odd occasion for a stock discrepancy to occur.

You had 1 and lost 1 - That's not a discrepancy - That is 100% of the stock gone missing
