in 10 years a fury x will be worth loads because it was the first hbm card whereas a 980ti wasnt even the top card of its time so it will be lost in history and on ebay for £20 :p

GTX 980 Launch Price $549 , Bit Tech launch review £429.
Fury X Launch Price $649 , Bit Tech launch review £510.
GTX 980 Ti Launch Price $649 , Bit Tech launch review £549.

Checking price spy for historical pricing, a Sapphire Fury X was recorded as £503 in Jul 15, IIRC 980 Ti where about that or more. Really can't recall 980 Ti being £100 cheaper than Fury X. When I got mine I got it on deal for £300, no new 980 Ti were on promo for that price in Mar 16.

Witcher 3 was used in launch review of Fury X on Bit-tech, some nice driver development shown in RX 480 review where they have Fury X with later drivers.

When they released there was about 2 dozen in total for the uk, there was a price premium slapped on them because of that.

Yeah I recall reading about shortages.

I recently got an Asus MG279Q, whilst just searching the web the odd things was mentions of nVidia GPU owners buying it as it was cheaper than G-Sync monitor, I did LOL at this.

In the PcPer video review they talked about MG279Q in context of price vs the G-Sync swift and how it was $200 more expensive, taking into account that the MG279Q was $599 in their review the Swift was 33% more $ (AFAIK it was the PG278Q being compared).

So I can see why a nVidia owner may go for the MG279Q, but fore go G-Sync? .

In all honesty I would probably try and find a few Fury Tri-X cards as you will have less issues and they are almost as fast as Fury X. I believe these were the best cards out of all the Fiji based cards (It's the one I have in my PC right now) and it is running brilliantly with my new system upgrades. Loadsamoney has two Fury Tri-X cards and as he is joining the green team very soon then maybe you could ask when he is selling them.

The Fury Tri-X is a sweet card IMO. Gained 3840SP unlock, which made it perform very very closely to a genuine Fury X, 3DM FS compare. It was so quiet that kept checking if fans were running. GPU VRM also runs cooler on Tri-X compared with Fury X AIO, on Fury X coolant flows rad > GPU > GPU VRM > rad, where as the Tri-X GPU VRM is independent of GPU.

I still opted for Fury X :-

a) as I was getting 4096SP at no extra cost at the time.
b) even though have good case air flow, the Tri-X dumps hot air in the case, I saw slightly better CPU temps as the AIO on Fury X meant all hot air from GPU was venting outside of case.

I've gone full retard check my sig :D

Will update other owner threads when I get the GPUs

Amazing. Good work.

Interested to know how these compare to the GTRs. I'm currently on a pair of 390s, but finding it extremely hard to resist upgrading.

I've spotted some white Nano's, which would look awesome in CF in my white case. £450 each, though.

I'll probably be getting the XFX RX480 GTRs on Friday and the Furys before the end of this month, if you want me to test something I only have the Fury Xs for now.

For AMD CrossFire, RX 480 and 470 are validated up to four GPUs. RX 460 is up to two GPUs.

Thanks Matt.

Back to the initial questions, seems that XFX (other retailer but sold by XFX themselves) sent me 2 different Fury Xs one is shiny nickel and one is kind of matte black around the edges, have no idea the differences between the two .

One of them was clearly sent back for RMA due to coil whine, the box was slightly teared and the label was also broken with another white label added at the edge of the box. I don't really care aslong as they aren't DOA.

Are the lights above the 2x8 Powers pins suppose to light up at all on initial boot? as I'm not getting any monitor signal.

Yes 4 way 480s are possible, check the Futuremark website.:D

Sadly I am the only one on there.

Lol Kaap like usual 4 is better than 1 :D
