Road Cycling

With the bikes from planet x/on one, "self build" does it mean groupset and frameset are totally seperate? So you need to fit bottom bracket, chainset, headset, cut down fork? Is everything included ie headset, spacers etc?

Looking at the pro carbon ultegra self build one it says you'll need a headset press and bottom bracket wrench. There's a few other parts you need as well.

Depending on the quality of the tools you buy and how much you value your time you could run up the extra £200 in tools.

After Adjusting position, saddle (Thanks Vonhelmet) and swapping wheels over.

Cannondale Super X Ultegra, my new CX race bike, not ridden it yet, but baptism of fire as racing tomorrow, but it is bloody lovely. 8.4kg before I swapped the wheels over, so reckon I've saved another couple of hundred g there and going to dump the front derailleur and go single chainring.

All you need are some deep sections to make that bike properly bad arse. That position is brilliant :D

First race on the SuperX today, what an absolutely brilliant bike! :D Will write up later.

So much awesome bike porn on this page.

My cycling has taken a further hit as I've sort of decided to run the Manchester marathon next year so I'm like..running a lot. Sickening.

Hopefully I can keep on top of cycling well enough to not become super slow

I used my LBS to build up my last frame. I cost just over £100 to get done and that included some parts, but there was the problem of getting it all arranged etc. So unless you already have the tools etc. your savings are minimal.

Where in Manchester do you live? The Fallowfield loop will be quite good for long runs if it's near you as it's quiet, flat and a bit more scenic than just running on roads constantly.

Back on topic, I've not cycled for about 3-4 weeks, really need to get back out this week. Going to try and do some miles on Tuesday.

I haven't seen my bikes in like 2 weeks now. I think they still exist. Going to have an indoor ride tonight between meetings and wish I rode to work. Some kid on a motorbike rode into the back of my car at a zebra crossing. Idiots.

Awesome page of bikes. Maybe I should buy a frame and build up an 11 speed CC style bike with discs and ultegra Di2 :D haha

Cosmics on a winter hack?!

I'm too lazy to swap them out for the winter wheels!

Welcome to my world.:(

Your cycling will take a performance hit from running unfortunately! Great to hear that you are getting into running though.
