Need a free AV and FW for my neighbour

OK, going to sort out my neighbours PC and I need free decent AV and FW software. Anyone got any suggestions?

Windows Firewall in SP2 is as good as any.

Avast & AVG are two free AV's I've heard of. At least, I think they're free...

Unfortunatley since Symantec bought Sygate I do not think they offer a free version anymore.

Although you may be able to download old versions still

ZA for a FW, but its realy worth paying for the pro #, Avast or AVG for ya Anti V, tbh there is not much in them, but Avast is prob best as its a boot AV.

hmm are you kidding me?
use Sygate or Zonealarm, or preferably a hardware firewall.

Nope, blocks incoming traffic well enough. Just about all most users need. If you've got a router, a firewall isn't necessary anyway. I don't run one on any of my pcs.

I have moved away from Sygate to the SP2 Firewall, couple that with AVG and it's a good all round setup
