EVGA nForce 680 Now Available @ OcUK

What are your 2 HT multis on for that please Asgard ?

Its all pretty much at default. So 5X.

Its was just a case of Memory to 2.0 volts. Timings at 4-4-4-12 and FSB at 400 x 9. Memory is linked @ 800. Thats it. Rock solid and never missed a beat so far. Using a Week 30A 6600.

Hmmm seems that it maybe there isn't the limit on HT there used to be on The AMD systems then ? I tried mine on 5x and it seemed ok, wasnt any quicker like, but didn't crash !

Apparently , reading on NVnews there is a beta bios that fixes the sound issue in SLi (also some people reporting that re-installing the latest DX after all drivers sorts it in some cases).

Anyhow beta bios is a floppy version (never do understand why people build systems without them, its a cheap, old and slow, but usefull bit of hardware :p), and can be gotten from HERE

Cheers for the link. Nice to see EVGA releasing Beta Bios. Any word on any other fixes?

If you are upgrading to the beta bios to fix the SLi sound issue do not do it via windows, EVGA forums says that it must be done by floppy to work correctly, this has been proven several times over when it first came out although the original thread was deleted to avoid confusion ;)

From what I read, its just the 20 bios with the SLi sound issue fixed.
I flashed it and seems ok so far.(I was on 19).
Fan speed control for the nforce chipset is sorted, presumably that was on the 20 too ?

I know that my p5n 32 will only OC reliably upto 300 FSB therefore limiting me to 2.7GHz with a E6600, so a E6300 would make 2.1GHz? I think its known that they don't OC well, as it is a shame to have a C2Duo and not be able to have it stretch it's legs. :)
Hence why Im getting a 680 soon

For £211 the mobo would have come with a very nice young lady in the buff..!!

While looking I noticed there's an ASUS board on its way for £270. That would have to come with several nice young ladies in the buff for that amount of money.

I like all of us here like the odd upgrade or 2 but I also know when I'm being shafted.

I in no way blame OcUK for the price. They have their margins to make.

/me slaps greedy manufacturers with a scud missile.

just got this up and running.

it doesnt know what to do with my ram timings.

ive got 4-4-4-12 ram yet its showing up as 5-5-5-18!

You need to manually set it like most boards. Set the memory to expert mode.

1T is the problem I think, 2T seems to be needed for a lot of memory on this board, which isnt such a bad thing, unless you are into memory benching.
For normal use including gaming, you won't notice it.

I think they are working on a bios to resolve this issue.

It says it 'Improves X-Fi and internal audio functionality' too.

Yeah this allegedly stops the crackling witnessed by a few when using sli.

Good to see NVidia releasing regular bios updates. :)
