7600GT overclocking

7600GT overclock!!!

hey guys had my 7600gt a while now and thought id install coolbits and have a go so i did and look what it auto detected at with no mods, this is an xfx extreme one clocked at 600/1600 i think,

Very nice oc mate. I can only get my BFG 7600gt to 602/1640 - and this is with the pensil mod on the core (would only do 585 before that) - have not tried it on the mem yet.

I've seen some get upto 700 on the core with the mod, maybe I need to try another pensil.

i dont understand what xfx have done to it but i was shocked at that with no pencil mods or anything, getting a Vf-900 for it on monday and well see what it can really do

is it safe to run on the optimal oc with these or you turn em down little mine goes 15oo/608 but thought little high for day to day use ran 3d mark and score was lower than standard wtf going on.

im pretty sure xfx have factory modded this card to run at slightly higher voltages, no way a standard card will auto detect at that, im mean wtf 1.8ghz straight off it must have more, iwill pdate when my VF-900 arrives

My leadtek 7600gt is at 625/800

But theres been cards that run up to 690/820 on stock cooling in a well vented case.

ok got the new cooler on and did and auto detect got even higher for some reason :confused:

I have that cooler, albeit the copper one with the quieter/slower fan. What temps are you getting?

lol, at 645/1800 im getting 37 idle and 44 load at low speed :eek:

On my 6800, with the vf-900, I was getting 50-54 at high speed, 54+ (not sure exactly) at low speed, all under load.

differnet manufacturing procees to my 7600GT thats why they run hotter

the pencil mod is relatively safe as you can just rub it off if the card doesnt like it

And I believe the Fatal1ty version has a more powerful fan, that is slightly louder.

yes it does but it make no difference as they are both the same speed on low

True, true. 44 on load is an amazingly low temp. You almost want it a bit warmer, heat up your house on these cold evenings!

lol thats why i alsmost have a phase change cooled room, well its warmer now the heating is on but seriously i dont get it 44 load room temp is about 23 and clock is 645
