Nvidia ForceWare 169.04

With this barrage of drivers, it must be cause they have stuffed things up badly in last couple of driver releases...

I just downloaded the 169.02's last night in anticipation of the 8800gt, now got to download more, and don't even have the card yet :)

Tried the 169.01's, with little success (lost fps in css stress test, and my card o/clock), then went back to 168.71's (my personel fav + RivaTuner). These gave me a constant 40/45 fps in Crysis (All high, except post processing and shadows low @ 1680 x 1050)

Just tried these 169.04's, and my css stress test is now 7fps above my 168.71 reseults, but Crysis has dropped to about 30/35. I can live with that!

I think Nv are smelling blood as they now the 2 fastest cards out (gt & Ultra) so they raming up the driver support. i think they need to cause when amd/ati sort out the merger problems they will be a force to rekon with

Um... the 8800GTX that came out last November has been the fastest card for nearly a year, only pepped by the ultra which is a tweaked up gtx. With the HD3 series being slower than the hd2900xt, they don't have anything to really worry about apart from getting the new gts, gtx and their mobile 8800m range through the door.
