Nice :D

I have 10meg and get full whack all the time :)

Bring on the 20

But with a half decent upload speed would be better, well I'd rather have lower down and more up tbh

Good stuff :)

As an end-to-end network owner, cable has inbuilt advantages in the quality of broadband service that we offer. Customers can receive consistent speeds no matter where they live on our network and a top speed of 10Mb is available throughout our broadband addressable areas.
We will be increasing this to 20Mb in June and we are also currently conducting a residential trial of a 50Mb broadband service.

Wonder if thats a free upgrade?? :)
Well every speed bump on Telewest so far has been free. The cost even went down in one case, when 4Mb users were upgraded to 10Mb and the cost dropped from £50 to £35.

This is great news. I love my 10mb connection, rock solid stable, and I can always get the full 10mb. It's truly uncapped/unshaped.

Lets hope it stays that way, and if it does I'll probably upgrade to 50mb.

I wish I could get cable.

They should have rolled out more cable tbh, then they could have got more customers to battle with Sky, aswell as more profit.

I really do want cable, but I'm not moving into a town for it. :)

They may well start expanding the network when things calm down, after all the merging :)

Around 1998, cable and wireless spent a year cabling up around us, but it was never switched on! It's just laid there doing nothing.

Harsh!

Let's hope so, Duke. :)

we have cabled installed in all the streets round here too, but the final 50 metres to the rest of the village was never completed

Im on 10mbit, as its sweet as a nut. Full 1.1MB sec all day every day. I think it depends on your location. Im on the outskirts of a small town so i guess there arent many people on it.

I did have a prob with torrents a while back but i turned on encryption and now they all run at 1.1MB/sec. havent turned off encryption recently so it might have changed.

I think i read on the virgin site that the 20mbit will be a free upgrade and then when they release 50mbit it will create its own higher tarrif.
oh yeh and im only paying £17.50 a month too:D

i went back down to 2mb, does that mean i should get the free upgrade to 4mb?

Us 2 meggers always get shafted :o don't be surprised if they have 50meg, 20meg and 2meg this time next year :p

Shafted? With only one exception they've increased speeds without increasing cost for every service level. I wish every company would shaft my utility/service bills like that!

Hmmmmm. I am moving flat tomorrow and will either go with Virgin or Be. I wonder if I call Virgin up, whether they'll give me the 10mb (and then 20mb) connection for £35 a month with a phone line and the TV package? Anyone have experience doing this?
