64 bit or 32 bit Win 7 - advice please

Hello,

I am thinking about this - assuming that 64 bit works on my motherboard

GA-EX58-UD5

and graphics board:

GV-R4850C-1GI

will things like

- MS Office (2007)
- Nero

work OR

- do all programs then need 64 bit versions?
- does normal 32 bit software work?

'scuse my ignorance in this area!

Yes 64bit will work, yes they can run 32bit programs without issue.

Thanks - did a search but I put in "32 bit or 64 bit" and didn't come up with that thread!

Go for 64 bit of the modern Windows versions (Vista + 7) as both work just as well as their 32 bit counterparts and have the extra benefits that 64 bit gives. The only 64 bit version that I've ever really had any trouble with is the 64 bit version of XP.

if your upgrading then its stupid not to go 64bit

64 bit trial enterprise edition installed! All OK so far.
