Should I go 1440p or 4k

I'm looking at a new monitor as I've been using a 1080p projector for my rig so what do you think I should go for as I'm not getting the most out of my xfire setup.

You could probably go for 4k with that setup.

I have 1x 290x so I recently went from 1080p to 1440p and am happy. 4k isn't quite there for me yet.

Have to say my opinion is 4K isn't quite "there" yet either. Personally hoping someone else (other than asus) comes out with a 2560x1440 144Hz g-sync panel sometime soonish as if/when I next buy a monitor I'd be looking at something like that.

You could also split the difference and go for 3440 x 1440 super wide with the LG (or AOC/Dell) monitors.

I just moved from 1440p to 4k.Just do it or you will always wonder. You got plenty juice for it.

Its certainly impressive when put to good use - I've various panels from 1920x1080 to various 2560x and the AOC 4K, but the current crop of 4K panels have some teething issues which if I'd known about before hand I would have given them a miss til the tech was more matured.

Go 1440 until 4k tech has evolved more, imo. Still early days.

1440 all day long for the time being. 4k to me just doesn't feel there yet.

I would recommend 1440p, you will see some nice performance on the current and next generation of games, get a higher quality panel, and save a few pounds to put towards your new 4K monitor in a couple of years

Every-one that has 1440p will say 1440p, and every-one that has 4k will say 4k, try it for yourself its pointless asking.

Though FWIW i have had 1440 and 4K and would choose the 4K every time.

I have both and if I had to choose one or the other I wouldn't be choosing 4K, its nice to have but 1440p is a lot easier to live with right now overall.

I have the same system as you and running 4K, no slow downs, everything maxed as high as possible, no complaints.

I have both and recommend 4k. The jump is personally the single biggest change in gaming enjoyment since the i7 was first released. Looking at 1440p after adjusting to 4k is not good and the only game I cannot run is watchdogs smoothly but with 4gb vram you will fair better than me.
